With increased efficiency as its main objective, Mobile Healthcare Solutions selects the Waiting Room Solutions Family Practice Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management System (PM).

Mobile Healthcare Solutions, located in Dewey, AZ, has chosen to implement 2011 Waiting Room Solutions Web Based EHR and Practice Management System 4.0. With this Family Practice Specialty EHR and PM, the practice will be able to achieve its paramount goal of increasing efficiency.

Goshen, New York —  Waiting Room Solutions® (WRS) (www.waitingroomsolutions.com), a leading web-based EHR and PM provider, announced today Mobile Healthcare Solutions has chosen 2011 Waiting Room Solutions Web Based EHR and Practice Management System 4.0 for its family care and walk-in clinic.

One year ago, Cindy M. Brown, NP founded Mobile Healthcare Solutions in Dewey, AZ. Mobile Healthcare Solutions is a small, rural clinic that functions as both a family practice and a walk-in facility. Brown is the sole full-time provider of this busy practice, which sees a high volume of patients five days a week. The practice previously used another EHR service, but switched to the Waiting Room Solutions software because of its ability to improve overall practice efficiency.

The Waiting Room Solutions EHR and PM also prepares Mobile Healthcare Solutions to meet the “meaningful use” criteria as outlined by the Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Meeting these requirements will allow the practice to be eligible for the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act (ARRA) stimulus package incentive program.

History of Present Illness and Review of System for EHRFurthermore, the Waiting Room Solutions Family Practice EHR and PM has been specifically designed to improve the efficiency, profitability and patient satisfaction of a family practice. To facilitate charting and create more uniform notes, the software includes a wide range of customizable templates as well automated ICD/CPT coding. The family practice templates include those for chest pain, well/sick baby exams, comprehensive pediatric visits, abdominal pain, physical exams, immunizations, health screening, referral letters, and more. In addition to these record-keeping features, the system offers lab interfaces with Quest, LabCorp and others, e-prescribing and medication management, EKG integration, standardized family practice procedure notes and document management, and an order tracking system.

With this unique package of features and web access capabilities, the Waiting Room Solutions Family Practice Specialty EHR and PM will aid Mobile Healthcare Solutions in achieving its overarching objective: to improve efficiency of all office functions. To alleviate some of the administrative workload, the practice will implement the WRS automated reminder system. In the past the practice did not have time to confirm appointments, but this feature automatically sends email and phone reminders to patients both when their appointment is made and twenty-four hours before their visit. Scheduling and patient communication will also be enhanced through the WRS patient portal, which allows patients to schedule appointments, receive reminders, and attain direct contact with their physician through the practice website. Physicians can also use the website to contact patients and to view practice records and information from remote locations, establishing a strong link between providers, patients, and practice information.

Billing and credentialing functions will also be improved through the WRS software. The WRS billing service and billing module ensure that the revenue cycle is completed timely and correctly without necessitating dual entry by staff; the module automatically receives charges, cross checks them to payer rules, and enters them for claim submission. The auto-posting feature automatically posts patient payments to a queue for viewing by physicians and billers, and the claim scrubber function reduce errors on claims in order to speed processing. Lastly, the practice will take advantage of the WRS credentialing service’s auto-eligibility feature in order to check patients for insurance coverage. This will be especially helpful with the practices many walk-in patients, since the system can assess insurance coverage and co-pay requirements instantly for unscheduled patients.

“Mobile Healthcare Solutions offers a wide range of services to its patients, many of whom are walk-ins,” said Dr. Jeff Hirsch, COO of Waiting Room Solutions. “We are glad that features such as auto-eligibility and customizable templates will prepare the practice for each new encounter and while still maintaining the same level of efficiency and patient satisfaction.”
