GOSHEN, N.Y. (Jan. 31, 2014) – WRS Health, a leading web-based provider of fully integrated electronic medical record and practice management solutions for medical practices, announced today it has upgraded its system to introduce preliminary functionality needed for ICD-10 coding mandates that go into effect on October 1, 2014.
“The healthcare industry is always changing and at WRS Health we make it a priority to stay on top of all regulations to ensure that our clients experience an uninterrupted workflow,” said Lawrence Gordon, MD, founder and CEO of WRS Health. “Our clients can rest assured knowing that we are fully prepared for the changes associated with the ICD-10 coding mandates, and that they have the full strength of our team behind them as they experience this seamless transition.”
ICD-10 coding mandates replace ICD-9 code sets and allow for expanded coding detail along with combined diagnosis codes to better define certain conditions. WRS Health has made enhancements and adjustments to its current system in preparation for ICD-10 mandates going into effect, including adding functionality that includes automatic mapping of ICD-9 to ICD-10 codes.
WRS Health encourages all clients to review all release notes and upcoming software updates and become familiar with ICD-10 coding. WRS Health will be offering a series of ICD-10 training webinars and self-guided training videos in the coming months. Announcements about these events will be distributed to clients when finalized.
